Pivot table not updating in excel 2016
Once you have created a Pivot Table, it doesn’t automatically refresh when you add new data or change the existing data.Since your Pivot Table is created using the Pivot Cache, when the existing data changes or when you add new rows/columns to the data, the Pivot Cache does not update itself automatically, and hence, the Pivot Table also does not update. If you do this, you can also use the refresh technique to update the Pivot Table even when new data (rows/columns) are added to the data source (since an Excel Table automatically accounts for new rows/columns that are added). If you’ve added new rows/columns to the data source, you need to change the data source to make sure new rows/columns are a part of the dataset. When I go in to change the data source and edit it from January to February, it lets me type it in but when I close, it does not pull in the February data. I know in excel 2007, I was able to do it this way and it would work. With pivot tables, it's often the little things that are frustrating..doesn't show up when you refresh, number formatting goes missing, fields have weird names...things like that. On the Analyze tab, in the Data group, click Change Data Source.
If I copy that January sheet and create a new sheet and name it February, I want to be able to change the data source to the data on the new sheet. Here is the VBA code: Decoding the Code: This is a change event which gets triggered whenever there is a change in the sheet that contains the source data.As soon as there is a change, the code refreshes the Pivot Cache of the Pivot Table with the name Pivot Table1.Pivot Tables are designed to only refresh when one of two events occurs: 2. Refresh Table Next pt Next ws End Sub EXAMPLE: All of your pivot tables will refresh when you click off of the sheet holding the data.In the code window, paste the following lines of text: Private Sub Worksheet_Deactivate() Dim pt As Pivot Table Dim ws As Worksheet For Each ws In Active Workbook. The Worksheet_Deactivate macro code will be executed whenever the sheet holding the code loses focus, i.e.
